Photomedia first started specializing in convention coverage in
1971, at which time the company became a member of the Metropolitan
Toronto Convention and Visitors Association. Since that time, both
Photomedia and the city of Toronto have undergone many changes.
We are now proud 32 year members of Tourism Toronto, and have undergone
the necessary technological changes to keep up with Toronto's fast
paced and complex Meeting and Convention market. Coverage is now
available on film, purely digital or both simultaneously. Proofing
and other output is available in timeframes that were unheard of
ten years ago. If you have it on site - it can be photographed -
and we can get results to you fast. From unobtrusive press type
coverage to custom studio setups, we can do it all for you. We offer
black and white, color and digital coverage, with in-house lab to
meet rush deadlines. Our additional services include location photography
for business portraits, exhibitors, products, large groups, Polaroid,
and digital imaging output. Turnaround time is extremely fast, and
finished product can be delivered to you in the Toronto area within
hours if necessary. Our photographers can be available on very short
notice in case of last minute changes, and are linked by cellular
phone 24 hours a day.
Graphic design support and overnight output for press and posters
are just some of the services available to the Convention Planning
professional. Our comprehensive equipment inventory ranges from
20 foot wide canvas backgrounds to give your group that classic
studio look to lighting powerful enough to evenly cover a 350 person

We have had the privilege of covering thousands of meetings and
conventions in the past 32 years, and the needs of each are as varied
as the numbers. We've photographed 2000 people in 30 minutes as
table shots and had a 350 person group shot with a seven minute
deadline from start to finish. We have covered events from the air,
in floating buses, on all form of watercraft, and dangling from
cranes. We have been the exclusive photographer for the visits of
Presidents and Prime Ministers with the Prime Minister of Canada
for meetings in Toronto. (Details on request) From 30,000 doctors
in one month, to 12,000 police officers in 3 days, we've covered
Conventions in, and are intimately familiar with, every major Meeting
venue in Toronto.
One client requested a full advertising/product/fashion shoot to
be done in the morning and afternoon, and transparencies to be ready
in one hour for viewing. From about 300 shots, all their advertising
photography for current posters and future ads were to be drawn.
Some were selected for 3 foot high blowup posters for the next day.
Ad copy and text for the posters was provided for our designer's
output. The working pieces were emailed back and forth during the
night for final head office approval. Photomedia Productions provided
all backgrounds, lighting and medium format coverage on site. Our
design team assembled, printed and laminated all display and ad
copy overnight. The result? One very happy client and a large group
of impressed attendees the next day!
